Doing Right by Veterans, Providers, and Public Trust
At Bitscopic, our mission has always been about more than software. We exist to help clinicians see clearly, act quickly, and give the best possible care to those who have served our nation. Every day, we’re proud to work alongside providers and administrators across the VA, supporting their efforts with tools that save time, surface insights, and improve outcomes for veterans.
Why Fair Competition Matters for Veterans and VA Care
Why Legal Protests Become Necessary
Sometimes, we’ve had to take the difficult step of filing a legal protest. We know these filings are public, and we understand why people might wonder if it’s just about chasing contracts. For us, it’s never been about that. It’s about ensuring the VA’s contracting process remains fair, competitive, and accountable.
When a contract bypasses the rules governing the process, there’s no real way for companies like ours to raise concerns inside the system. A protest becomes the only option left. We don’t take that lightly. We’d always rather sit down, talk, and work things out. However, when veterans’ care, opportunities for other qualified businesses, and the responsible use of resources are at stake, we feel a duty to speak up.
And often, the VA has agreed. In nearly all cases, they’ve acknowledged irregularities and taken steps to correct them. We also recognize that not every irregularity signals bad intent. Sometimes it’s just an explainable mistake in a process that is complex and under pressure. But even then, shining a light helps ensure the right corrections are made quickly and fairly. It keeps competition healthy, ensures contracts reflect the VA’s actual needs, and helps avoid short-term fixes that become long-term problems.
Clarifying Our Intent: Partnership, Not Conflict
Protesting a contract isn’t about picking fights with the VA. The VA is our partner. We’ve worked together for well over a decade, and our focus has always been the same: supporting clinicians, improving outcomes for veterans, and strengthening the systems that serve them.
Our actions are guided by three core beliefs. First, veterans deserve the best tools available. Second, to ensure that VA hospitals and caregivers receive the best solution at the lowest price, contracting should provide space for a wide range of qualified businesses to compete. Third, public resources should deliver the strongest possible impact. We want to compete on the merits of innovation, service, and value, while also strengthening the community that cares for veterans.
That belief includes veteran-owned businesses we work alongside. They bring a unique perspective and dedication to serving the VA. Every time competition narrows, it reduces opportunities for them and weakens the ecosystem that should be serving veterans the most.
It also extends to public trust. Every dollar invested in VA care carries weight. It represents more than funding — it represents confidence. Fair competition makes sure those dollars deliver maximum value, not only in cost savings but also in quality, innovation, and long-term impact.
Our Commitment Going Forward
We understand that legal filings can sometimes sound adversarial. But our vision isn’t in conflict. Our vision is collaboration, working hand in hand with contracting officers, clinical leaders, and VA executives to provide veterans with both the strongest possible care and the strongest possible stewardship of resources.
Bitscopic will continue to develop tools that elevate clinical care and research. We’ll continue to advocate for open competition that provides veterans with access to the best solutions. And above all, we’ll continue to put veterans, providers, and public trust at the center of every decision we make.
That’s what drives us at Bitscopic. It’s not just about technology. It’s about fairness, trust, and doing right by those who’ve already given so much.
