Senior MUMPS & VistA Software Engineer

We are looking for a senior M developer with a solid working knowledge of the VistA technology stack. In addition to MUMPS, you should be very comfortable with HL7 as well as 1-2 modern languages and programming environments such as C#, Java, Python etc. Your responsibilities will be to help support and expand our current VistA/M infrastructure, develop new interfaces (HL7, RPC, etc), integrate with existing APIs and packages, provide technical guidance, testing and contribute to our growing M infrastructure team. This is a high-impact role that influences our growth and future. The position is permanently remote, where you can work anywhere from within the U.S.
You will do much more than just write code – you’ll be an integral part of the entire product development process, from ideation to delivery, with great autonomy. In collaboration with stakeholders across clinical customers, R&D, and sales, your work will impact the lives of patients all across the country.

What You Will Do
- Build across the stack from the back-end to APIs and middle-tier to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Design and build large-scale, distributed, highly available, well-tested, and easily managed applications.
- Draw from previous experience building highly scalable systems to influence and steer improvements within our distributed Engineering team.
- Work collaboratively with people throughout the company to understand the goals, needs, and priorities of systems and applications.
What you bring to the team (must have)
- 5+ years of experience writing understandable, testable, and efficient code in a healthcare setting
- 5+ years of engineering experience with a good understanding of designing robust and scalable services.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- A keen sense of end-to-end ownership and drive to deliver.
- Clear communication around technical concepts and ideas to other engineers and the ability to talk to customers and other teams.
Bonus Points:
- FHIR
- Experience with Javascript frameworks
- Experience with MS SQL & Oracle databases
- RESTful web API design & development
- Cross-platform .NET 6+
