Bitscopic’s Clinical Surveillance software to be implemented at VA Los Angeles and VA Las Vegas

Bitscopic signs 5 year contracts with VA Greater Los Angeles and Southern Nevada  Healthcare Systems to implement PraediAlert

Los Angeles, CA  May 1, 2022

Bitscopic announced today that the US Department of Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (a member of the VISN 22 Network) and Southern Nevada Healthcare System (a member of the VISN 21 Network) have both signed 5 year contracts to implement the PraediAlert Clinical Surveillance Software system.

Bitscopic’s PraediAlert system will support the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship programs.  For these programs, PraediAlert enables the integration of data domains beyond VistA, the VA EMR system.  Including this additional data provides greater context and expands the alerting capability so clinicians can more quickly and effectively react to reported infections and clinical events.

Bill Maher from Bitscopic on the VA Healthcare System’s decision to implement PraedIAlert:

“We’re excited to be working with the teams at VA Greater Los Angeles and VA Southern Nevada to advance their surveillance capabilities. PraediAlert delivers critical Infection Control and Pharmacy insights to accelerate interventions and improve care for our Veterans.  In addition, PraediAlert enables several critical functions that increase the facility’s capability to manage the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, including a full dashboard to track COVID-19 cases as well as identifying patients eligible for monoclonal or antiviral therapy.”

The VA Greater Los Angeles and VA Southern Nevada join dozens of VA facilities using Bitscopic solutions to track and prevent hospital acquired infections, manage antimicrobial stewardship, accelerate perioperative reporting,  manage clinical trial enrollment, enable computational biology/DNA analysis and monitor public health surveillance.
